LAST OF THE SUMMER WIRES
Fiona Cullinan
So that's it! I'm home, tired, but glad I did it.
Thanks for tuning in this past week. As promised, I'll shortly be deleting your email data. But it occurred to me that some of you might like to be notified of future walk projects. So I'm starting a separate mailing list for that. It'll be somewhere I can announce small projects and walk adventures. I've called it Walkbab in honour of my Brummie origins.
I've also written a bit of an afterword and some stats about how the LofSW went below for anyone interested.
LofSW stats
40 subscribers
57,850 walk steps
2,324 words written
76% was the highest open rate
70 video views
#2 newsletter was most popular (Aberdovey to Tywyn)
Newsletter responses
"You’re making my day - lovely 5 minutes spent transported into your world"
"This lifted my heart for another day"
I just wanted to say thanks for all your clicks and comments. Many people got in touch to say they were enjoying LofSW. It was hard work in that it took time to compile a multimedia newsletter on top of a long walk at the end of a long day. I guess it becomes easier when it's your daily practice or there is a journey or story driving you on.
I can envision doing a short newsletter run like this once or twice a year. Maybe I'll walk in a new place or take on a physical challenge or set some other weird pyschogeographic parameters.
If you want read more of my stuff before that, I generally post on various topics at Fionacullinan.com or on Walkspace.
Any questions/comments?
If anyone has any questions or feedback on the LotSW project, please get in touch. You can reply to this email and I'll get your message.
I'm curious to know what you thought worked or didn't, would you have liked it to be more interactive, longer, shorter; did it lack the ongoing interest of a durational walk from A to B?
Yn dymuno eich bod chi yma – wish you were here!
Bye for now,
Fiona
