An attempt at exhausting The Fridge café in Aberdovey of conversation
– "I don't know that I need an ice cream"
– "You take a swab of the throat and nose and then it tells you"
– "Does he live here? He's got a very strong Brummie accent!"
– "...and toilets across the road. Couldn't be better..."
– "The last few weeks have been good weather"
– "Got your mask?"
– "Margaret"
– "Mind where you're walking" "Yeh"
– "Ginger ice cream"
– "My legs are burning – through my trousers"
– "That's the railway replacement bus to Pwyllheli"
– "I was trying to think..."
– "I clean it all the time. It's just the strap on it"
– "Shall we go somewhere else? Or shall we discuss it on the balcony?"
– "Woof!"
Had I not walked the two hours back from Aberdovey, I wouldn't have seen all those places you pass at 40mph... the world behind the giant sand dunes that belongs to the dogs and their humans. The sharp smack of wind as you go over the top. The give in the different types of sand, from the soft dry dune grain to the ironed-hard wet-smooth flats to the soft-sink near the shore. The chimney in the sand that says 'Hi Chris'. The Tywyn craftmakers sawing driftwood for their shop. The dead dolphin being feasted on by the crow. The starlings circling Neptune caravan park. The mercurial silver of sun on a whitecapped sea.
Walking is how the unknown becomes known.
Wish you were here.

One-minute video: Watch the sun come out on the Wales Coastal Path
But first line up Blue Skies by Willie Nelson to listen to while viewing. That was my soundtrack to escape the wind.
Some bonus photos because it was such a beaut walk... all no filter.
