Area Plans, Police Advisory Review Committee Changes, and More
GENERAL HIGHLIGHTS

OCTOBER 31 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council approved changes to the Police Advisory Review Committee ordinance to bring the committee into compliance with new state law (final reading). Councilmembers Henderson, Smith, Ledford, and Dotley voted YES. Councilmembers Berz, Noel, Coonrod, and Hill voted NO.
- The council approved the creation of a new zone for the Westside Evolves project (first reading).
- The council approved the donation of property to the Chattanooga Housing Authority for the completion of the Westside Evolves plan.
- The council approved support of a Choice Neighborhoods Implementation (CNI) Grant application for $50M for the completion of the Westside Evolves plan.
- The council approved the Economic Impact Plan for the The Bend Development Project. This Impact Plan is a required step in the creation of the One Westside TIF.
- The council approved the application for a $2M grant for a U.S. Department of Transportation under the Bipartisan Infrastructure eLaw, Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) Grant Program.
- The council approved the elimination of the “Park Ranger” position, a currently unused employee designation.
- The council approved a number of other lease agreements, grants, donation agreements, rental fee waivers, purchases, and other agreements (see agenda for details).
- The council approved 5 routine purchases, including a $250k in vehicles from Ford of Dalton.

NOVEMBER 7 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council will vote on the creation of a new zone for the Westside Evolves project (final reading).
- The council will vote to authorize a public hearing on November 28 regarding the deannexation of 7900 Holly Hills Drive.
- The council will vote on the appointment of Brooke Barclift to the Beer & Wrecker Board.
- The council will vote on the appointment of Armand Wine, Aermelia Williams, and Annalee Heo to Community Advisory Committees
- The council will vote on the appointment of Doug Dailey and Mark Stolpmann to the Board of Gas Examiners.
- The council will vote on a number of right of way closures and grant applications (see agenda for details).
NOVEMBER 14 CITY COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS

- The council will vote on an amendment to the process of declaring surplus city real estate (first reading).
- The council will vote on a number of zoning cases, including:
- A request to rezone 1133 and 1137 Old Pineville Road from R-1 to R-3. RPA staff recommended approval. Planning Commission recommended denial.
- A request to rezone 6010 Dayton Boulevard from R-1 to R-4. RPA staff recommended denial. Planning Commission recommended approval.
