October 14 '23: Meetings and Greetings
Not seeing all of this on email? You can View it online here
Hello! This week's theme is Meetings and Greetings. Like when you meet someone. Say Hi. Share space. Like that.
How do you say Hi? Do you give a little wave? Are you a hugger? Do you have a special voice you use like a Muppet?
Sloth and (Moon)atee
Sloth and Manatee and their microscopic friends are following a long line of rocks on the Moon, hoping to find something/someone interesting at the end. But along the way it looks like they missed a greeting from the rocks themselves...
I do hope they come back, don't you?
Meeting and Greeting, Ocean Edition
Sloth and Manatee are experts at getting to know whoever or whatever they meet. It all starts with their greeting...
That last fellow is the Frog of Knowledge from the first book - that's one deep frog.
This may not look exactly like a meeting or a greeting, but whenever I hang out near the beach I think, "Hello, ocean." Also, that plane is going somewhere, saying goodbye and hello at the same time.
Why are there so many cave people involved this week?
I have no idea.
And Now for Something Completely Different
Inktober continues, and I am definitely losing my train of thought along the way -
Prompt 8 is "Toad" which made me think Toad - Tarot - Toad - Tarot and also that frogs and toads have magical powers, as far as I am concerned
If you are familiar with Tarot cards, the Magician comes equipped with all the major tools - swords, cups, wands, coins. It is the first card in the deck, and a card of infinite possibility.
Prompt 9 is "Bounce," so here's what happened, which was the OBVIOUS choice:
And finally, Prompt 13 is "Rise," in which Magic Space Frog rises above our beautiful Earth. May everything move toward peace in all ways everywhere.
You can follow along with the Inktober nonsense as I go, at my Instagram.
Best of Brainwaves Volume One Creeps Closer...
I've approved the proof and ordered the first copies. It'll be in my shop as soon as I get em! SUPER SECRET: It's already up on the Amazon machine. You can get it there. Shh. Hasn't appeared on Bookshop yet, but I'll let ya know. And hey, free copies for folks who'd be willing to post and/or write reviews. Yes yes!
A popular way for people to buy Sloth and Manatee books is to gift them to someone and have me write a note in there. Is there someone out there who could use something sweet to read?
Okay that's enough nonsense for now.
May you say hello to a friend, may you meet someone new, won’t you be my neighbor?
-Betsy
